About S&R Foundation

S&R Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in Washington, D.C. by Dr. Sachiko Kuno and Dr. Ryuji Ueno in 2000 to encourage and stimulate scientific research and artistic endeavors among young individuals.

The S&R Foundation currently grants two awards – The S&R Washington Award and the S&R Ueno Award – and works in partnership with other nonprofit organizations to further the talents of young artists and scientists.

Mission

The main goal of the foundation is to recognize talented young scientists and artists for their distinguished work in fields of science and fine arts, especially those who contribute to U.S. - Japanese understanding.
